EMS Station No. 1

Cameron, Texas

As the first of four planned emergency facilities, Milam County ESD No. 1’s new EMS station establishes a welcoming and recognizable presence in Cameron, Texas. The station brings together emergency response, training, administration, and staff living spaces within a highly efficient environment designed to support rapid deployment, dependable service, and seamless daily operations.

Drive-through apparatus bays provide efficient access for emergency vehicles, while carefully organized circulation helps separate operational, staff, and public functions. Comfortable living quarters, shared gathering areas, and dedicated support spaces create a functional home base for first responders working extended shifts. Durable materials and thoughtfully coordinated building systems respond to the demanding needs of a continuously operating emergency facility.

More than an emergency response facility, the station is envisioned as a community beacon that represents safety, trust, and preparedness. Flexible training and multipurpose spaces create opportunities for public education, professional development, and community outreach, strengthening the connection between first responders and the residents they serve. As the prototype for future stations, the project also establishes a consistent architectural identity and operational framework for emergency services throughout Milam County.
